About us

Thirty-six children, and we know every one

Oakfield has been on Bishopthorpe Road since 2009. We keep it small on purpose, so key workers really know each child and each family.

Every day includes time in the garden, whatever the weather. Wellies are on the hooks by the door.

Starting with us

How settling in works

1. Come and look round

Visit with your child, meet the room team and see a real morning.

2. Settling sessions

Two or three short visits with you nearby, then a little longer on their own.

3. First full days

Their key worker sends photos and notes so you know how the day went.

4. Every day after

A chat at pick-up and a learning journal you can read at home.

The team

The people your child will know by name

Every member of staff is first-aid trained and DBS checked, and most have been with us more than five years.

Alfie runs in every morning. The team noticed things about him we had not, and he started school more confident than we ever expected.
