One sitting, one menu

You do not
order here.

Twelve seats face the board. What arrives depends on what came off the boat that morning, and it arrives one piece at a time.

Unmarked, on purpose

I did not know this was under there. Eight of us at the counter on a Thursday, no phones out for two hours, and the chef talked us through every plate without it ever feeling like a lecture.

Before you come

What people
ring to ask.

How do I book?

By telephone only, from four in the afternoon. We do not take bookings online and we do not keep a waiting list.

Can you do dietaries?

Shellfish and allergies yes, with two days' notice. Vegetarian, honestly, no — it is a fish counter.

Is there a dress code?

No. There is a noise code: it is a small room, so we ask groups to keep it to four.

Do you take walk-ins?

Two seats are held until seven each night. After that the board is set.
